Our Inspector

The owner and only inspector of Gold Key Home Inspections, Inc. is Jamie Miller. Jamie grew up in Topeka, IN and attended Westview High School from 1985-1989.

In 1989 he began attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA to major in accounting. Eventually, he graduated in 1994 with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Math and History.

In the fall of 1994 he began teaching 3rd grade at R.S. Payne Elementary School, which is also in Lynchburg, VA. In 1997 he began teaching 6th-8th grade English and History at Sandusky Middle School in Lynchburg. During this teaching time he also joined an elite crew of fellow teachers known as the “Terminators”. This group installed fiber optic cables in all classrooms and buildings in the Lynchburg City Schools over a period of 4 years. This enabled teachers and students alike to become technically proficient and linked together. This experience also provided valuable experience in the structural and technical components of commercial buildings

In the summer of 2000, Jamie and his family moved back to the Midwest and bought a house in Middlebury. During this transaction, he was introduced to the home inspection process and became interested in pursuing it as a career. For the next several years, he worked for a contractor that performed a wide variety of construction jobs. Included in the work were renovations, new construction, additions, and concrete work. During this time, he also performed home inspections and continued to learn the profession.

In 2005, Jamie became a licensed inspector and began to inspect with a full time passion and love for the profession. Since then he has sought to constantly improve every aspect of his performance before, during, and after the inspection. He has now inspected hundreds of buildings and has drawn praise from clients and realtors alike for his detailed, level-headed and common sense approach to inspections. One thing has remained the same throughout his years of inspecting-He will tell you the truth about the true condition of the home. He will never understate potential problems, but neither will he cause undue apprehension and concern over issues that don’t warrant such attention.
